Domain Theft Protection links will be visible on the Domain Management console in the Control Panel as well as the Order Details page.

.com and .net domain name secrets

The .COM and .NET Registry recently announced that they will be changing their Domain Secret implementation on the 15th of November, 2009. As per the new rules a Domain Secret must be 8-32 characters long and contain at least one number, one letter and one special character.

There will be no impact on existing Domain Names; they can be Transferred with the current Domain Secret itself.

Security ID – Personal Identification Number (PIN) for Domains Control Panel

Security is of prime importance in running a Domain Business. We at aalpha NET acknowledge this fact and in our efforts to ensure a secure environment for your Business, we will be introducing a Security ID – Personal Identification Number (PIN) on the 19th of November 2009. PIN is a four digit secret number that would be used to verify your identity during your communication with the aalpha NET Support Team.

Most TLD Registries, banks and other critical service providers always include an additional security check when assisting Customers on the phone. The idea is simple – ensure that the person contacting us has genuine access and rights to the Account so he can be assisted appropriately.

Details:
• Existing Resellers/Customers can locate their PINs in their Primary Profile in the Control Panel
• The PIN can be edited from Settings >> Change Personal Identification Number (PIN)
.
A default PIN will be emailed to all new Resellers/Customers on sign-up
